La Poderina Estate is located in in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, 10 km from Montalcino, an area well known for the elegance and balance of its grapes. In accordance with business philosophy, fully centered into respect of tradition supported by innovation, La Poderina wines undergo maturation in French oak barrels as well as in large barrels. In vineyard, highly qualitative farming systems are adopted with yields of 60 quintals per hectare, well below the 80 quintals permitted by the Regulations. Brunello is produced in two versions: "Poggio Abate" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. La Poderina also produces: Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Moscadello di Montalcino DOC (dessert wine). Founded: 1988. Extension: 80 ha. Hectares of Vineyards: 37 ha of which: 12,5 ha to Brunello di Montalcino, 5,6 ha to Rosso di Montalcino, 4,0 ha to Moscadello di Montalcino, 14,90 ha different vineyards. Average altitude of the vineyards: 350 metri s.l.m. Type of Land: oil rich in texture, formed by the decomposition of original rocks, in particular marl and limestone. Plant Density: 3.500-5000 hackles/ha. Vine training: spurred cordon. Total production: 120.000 bottles.
