With and SMS it is possible to trace Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino wines. The number to which the message should be sent is +39 3663008880 for Brunello di Montalcino and +39 3663333730 for Rosso di Montalcino.

The text of the SMS must be filled in with the size of the bottle e.g. 0.75 for the normal bordelaise) and with the three letters and eight numbers (alphanumeric code) printed on the state tag stuck on the neck of every bottle.

Within a short lapse of time and an SMS answer will arrive with the following data: vintage, number of bottles produced in the same lot, reference to the certification of the controlling body, specific analytical data (alcohol content, extract and acidity) name and reference of the producer.

This system has been operative starting with the Brunello di Montalcino 1999 vintage and with the Rosso di Montalcino 2005 vintage.
