The Carlo Molinari Farm, Podere Le Fonti, is located halfway up the granitic mountain massif upon which the town of Montalcino rises, on the steep slope that overlooks the valley of the Asso river. It is the historic hillside of Brunello, where the rocky terrain mixes with the hill terrains, which once were the beds to vast prehistoric rivers. The farm is located in a panoramic position, on the NORTHERN side of the pyramid of Brunello di Montalcino, with a view that extends over the Val d’Arbia and the famous “Crete” landscapes in the Sienna countryside. The vineyards are organised over a vast natural terracing that is oriented towards the EAST, protected from the Scirocco winds by the town of Montalcino itself. It is such a pleasant spot, where wide terraces dense with olive and chestnut trees mix together with the various Mediterranean essences, all overseen by centuries-old oak trees that line the slopes from the town to the underlying valleys. The production of the Carlo Molinari Farm is quite restricted. The farm produces a very limited number of bottles of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, and of Rosso di Montalcino DOC, the Sant’Antimo DOC red wine and the Santa Laura IGT white wine from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes that is reserved for a very select clientele.
