CHANGE AT THE HEAD OF CONSORZIO DEL BRUNELLO - MICHELE FONTANA NEW DIRECTOR

(Montalcino, 10 June 2020). Effective July, Michele Fontana will be the new director of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino, taking over from Giacomo Pondini, in office since January 2016. Fontana currently serves as Executive Director of the Castello di Meleto winery and brings experience with the Consorzio del Vino Chianti Classico. 

"Although this is a moment of great uncertainty for the entire sector, we are confident that in welcoming Michele Fontana we are opening a highly constructive collaboration,” said Fabrizio Bindocci, consortium Chairman. “Challenging times still await the Montalcino denomination and territory, but also positive ones. All of the wineries and the entire Board of the Consorzio extend their thanks to Giacomo Pondini,” concluded Bindocci, “for his constant commitment, for the activities completed, and for the results achieved under his direction.”
