Brunello enlivens the States

Benvenuto Brunello Usa 2014

2018 is drawing to a close, and in the midst of year-end statements and good wishes, it is already time to think about the coming year. First stop for the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium in 2019 will be in the United States, proof of the great feeling between Brunello and the American market. “Benvenuto Brunello USA” will be held in New York on 28 January, with the American public enjoying previews of the new Brunello di Montalcino 2014, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2013 and Rosso di Montalcino 2017 vintages, as well as two other premium Montalcino products, Moscadello and Sant’Antimo. The event will then move to Montalcino, the medieval village in the heart of Tuscany where the precious Brunello is “forged” (15-18 February, tickets can be bought at the following link:

Brunello has been paired with a Tuscan menu at Eataly Boston

In anticipation of Benvenuto Brunello, two events enlivened the States during December. Last week, a “sommelier and journalist lunch”, attended by the Consortium’s director, Giacomo Pondini, was held at New York’s Lupa restaurant, and a Brunello di Montalcino 2013 tasting at Eataly Boston, paired with a Tuscan menu (a trio of crostini, pici in a garlic and wine-braised beef sauce) created by chef Donna Macdonald-Rizzo.
