First stop for the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium in 2019 will be in the United States, proof of the great feeling that exists between Brunello and the American market. “Benvenuto Brunello USA” will be held at Tribeca 360° in New York on 28 January, where the American public will be able to enjoy previews of the new Brunello di Montalcino 2014, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2013 and Rosso di Montalcino 2017 vintages, as well as two other premium Montalcino products, Moscadello and Sant’Antimo. Taking part in the event, which is aimed at the press and those in the wine business, will be 30 of Montalcino’s renowned wineries, which will present their new vintages during a walk-around tasting.
At the same time, two seminars will be held, conducted by Giacomo Pondini, Director of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium, and Nick Jackson, a wine buyer and wine-specialist for Sotheby’s, first in London and then New York, and a Master of Wine candidate.
The seminars will cover a brief history of Montalcino and explanations about appellations, terroirs, production and all the aspects that characterize Brunello and the other wines, designed to provide a greater understanding of the economic value of these premium quality products and increase knowledge of the Montalcino wine producing area.
From 15 to 18 February “Benvenuto Brunello” will then move to Montalcino, the medieval village in the heart of Tuscany where the precious Brunello is “forged”. Tickets are available at the following link: bit.ly/benvenuto-brunello_19).
