Italy-China, alliance sealed with Brunello

A book about the Quirinale Palace, a silver basket and three bottles of Brunello di Montalcino: the gifts of President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella to the Chinese president Xi Jinping, on the latter’s visit to Italy to conclude the trade deal and open the new Silk Road. The gift was given at the end of a gala dinner on 22 March at the Quirinale, which featured tortellini filled with carbonara, saddle of veal with truffles and rum baba served with a glass of Marsala. The trade agreement between Italy and China was sealed by three fabulous bottles of one of the iconic symbols of high-quality Italian winemaking, among the most famous and prestigious in the world, which can only benefit from the opening of a Silk Road for wine too.
Meanwhile all eyes are now on Vinitaly 2019, the world’s most important wine event, taking place from 7th to 10th April in Verona, in which the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino will play a leading role.
