After a year of studies, research and over 300 tastings, today, on the first day of the 30th edition of Benvenuto Brunello (19-29 November), the official glass of the Consortium of the iconic wine best known to Italian consumers, according to the annual report by Wine Intelligence, makes its debut.
Created by Italesse, a historic brand in the sector, the “Senses” project for the Brunello glass involved oenologists and producers working with the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino and the first Italian Master of the Wine, Gabriele Gorelli, to identify the shape and material of this special glass. The result is a high-performance glass (T-made70) with a tapered body and flat-bottomed bowl. Lead-free, automatically blown crystal clear glass that enhances the organoleptic characteristics of Brunello, for a complete sensory experience for both professionals and wine lovers alike. And Benvenuto Brunello, the event that pioneered the Italian anteprime, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has been chosen as the first testing ground. Eleven days of tastings for the national and international press and trade, sommeliers from starred restaurants and Masters of Wine, influencers, bloggers and wine lovers to celebrate the baptism of Brunello 2017, Brunello Riserva 2016 and Rosso di Montalcino 2020 from 119 wineries.
