Located just a kilometre beneath the medieval fortress of Montalcino, Casa Raia sits on its own promontory surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The altitude is 365 metres above sea level.
Cultivation is done by hand, dutifully keeping the vegetation in order and carefully cleaning each bunch throughout the maturation process. The pruning method is cordon spur and double cordon. No pesticides or herbicides are used. We maintain the biodiversity and natural balance on the entire estate.
Vinification is done in stainless steel and French oak barrels. Fermentation is natural without any added yeasts.
Ageing is in French oak barrels and Tonneaux.
Bottling is done without filtration.
