Fabrizio Bindocci, Chairman of Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino announces: "Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino is convinced that Vinitaly should be held in June, and that we should take part in it. We are the global standard-bearer of Italian wine and it is even more important that we confirm this in support of the Verona fair, in difficult moments like these. The shift in the calendar is obviously due to the current health crisis. Equally obviously, Vinitaly would not have been ready to guarantee adequate business standards in April. Beyond all pragmatic aspects, we believe that it will be fundamental for our Consortium to be there, giving a signal to the world that our country is starting up again and our production will continue. Clearly this sense of responsibility is shared by our producers, who have all overcome many historically critical phases."
