BENVENUTO BRUNELLO OFF CLOSES WITH 650 SPECIALISED PARTICIPANTS

(Montalcino, Siena – 30th March 2021). Benvenuto Brunello Off came to a close yesterday with an overall attendance of about 650 and 1500 bottles uncorked. The tasting event with limited number of guests was hosted by the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino on the four weekends of March to present the new vintages to professionals in the sector.

The tastings, reserved for the specialised press and guides, bloggers, sommeliers (50 of whom from starred restaurants) and Horeca professional operators, included Brunello 2016, Brunello Riserva 2015, Rosso di Montalcino 2019, Moscadello and Sant’Antimo produced by 140 wineries participating in the project of the Consortium.

For Fabrizio Bindocci, Chairman of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino, “Benvenuto Brunello Off will go down in records as the first in-person event after a whole year of digital initiatives. This primacy fills us with pride, not only because Montalcino gave all of Italy a loud and clear restart signal, but also because we had the courage to demonstrate that we can return to planning promotional events for the market under total safety conditions”.

The appointment with the 29th edition of Benvenuto Brunello is set on 16th and 17th May, as part of the Anteprime di Toscana wine previews.
